Once He Was a Man
Once he
was a little boy; he didn't know the rules.
He played
his games of make-believe, and grownups all were fools.
He played
his games, and they were games; a mask was just a toy.
And truth
was truth, and lies were lies, when he was just a boy.
Now he's
grown into a man, and now he's been to school.
He plays
his games of make-believe according to the rules.
He wears a
mask that hides his face and covers up his eyes,
So he can
never see the facts, or tell the truth from lies.
And so he
tries his best to please; he tries as best he can.
Once he
was a little boy... Once he was a man.
